School Partnerships

St. Mark’s and Erie Episcopal are dedicated to forging meaningful partnerships with two local schools.

We provide donations, volunteers and resources to the Charter School of Excellence and Harding Elementary School. By fostering an ongoing relationship, our school partnerships go beyond donations and create meaningful and lasting relationships with students and faculty alike.

We are always discerning new ways to help and foster deeper relationships between our congregations and the schools.

The Charter School of Excellence

The Charter School of Excellence provides a variety of educational opportunities that foster academic excellence through partnerships with families, community and school. It is a non-traditional approach to learning with small class sizes, cutting edge curriculum, and a support system aimed at addressing barriers to learning.

St. Mark’s has partnered with the Charter School to provide weekend snack bags twice a month. Bags are packed and distributed by volunteers. St. Mark’s and Erie Episcopal also help stock the personal hygiene pantry in the school. Additionally, we are called upon to help in emergency situations with students suddenly experiencing homeless, food insecurity or other unexpected needs.

You can help by purchasing personal hygiene items like shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste, tooth brushes, body wash and feminine products. Items can be brought to St. Mark’s or the Cathedral at any time.

Winter Coats & Winter Gear

Every Winter, St. Mark’s and Erie Episcopal provide our partner schools with close to 200 new winter coats. Additionally, we collect new hats, gloves and scarves to make sure our friends stay warm all winter. Our team works faithfully all year with local business to purchase coats in anticipation of the winter season. For the past two years, St. Mark’s and Erie Episcopal raised over $5000 to ensure the purchase of these items. Coats are distributed in November directly to the students.

School Supply Drive

St. Mark’s and Erie Episcopal teams up with the Charter School of Excellence and Compton’s Table to provide all the necessary back-to-school items to students. Items needed include scissors, pencils, glue sticks, crayons, pocket folders, spiral notebooks, erasers, colored pencils, and individual tissue packs. Our School Supply Drive takes place every year in August.
