Welcome to St. Mark’s

St. Mark’s is an open and inclusive Episcopal church. We are a Christian community committed to sharing God’s love. In our baptism service, we promise to love our neighbors as ourselves and uphold the dignity of every human being — everybody, no exceptions. You are welcome here.

Nursery Care is offered for children through the age of 5. The nursery is located downstairs on the righthand side of the hallway. Our nursery staff are trained childcare providers with necessary training and clearances. Please sign your child in upon arrival and let the staff know if your child should be returned to church for communion.

Our 10:00 Service continues to be offered on Zoom. To receive the link and join us for worship on-line please contact Craig Dressler. We look forward to seeing you this Sunday!

Chalice Returns to Eucharist

Beginning on Sunday, September 11, we will return to distributing communion in both kinds. The bread and wine will be distributed from the center aisle. Those who wish to receive the wine will be invited to drink from the chalice; those who choose not to, may cross their arms over their chests and hear the words spoken to them. We will not be offering intinction (dipping the host into the chalice). The Church has always affirmed that receiving in one kind is as valid as receiving both kinds, so there is no pressure to consume the wine. The pandemic has allowed us the opportunity to reconsider many aspects of our common life, this is where we find ourselves comfortable at this time. Thank you for your continued patience.

Our worship space offers a sacred place to pray and experience Jesus Christ, through scripture and sacrament. We celebrate Holy Eucharist each Sunday. Sermons help us to apply Bible teachings to our individual and common lives. Bulletins provide everything you need for worship each Sunday.

We believe a life of faith involves asking tough questions, and we are therefore committed to providing a safe place for learning and spiritual growth. We know the search for a new church can be difficult. If you would like to talk to one of our parish leaders about  life at St. Mark’s, please email or call us at (814) 868-9704.
